Foi publicada a lista dos destaques de julho na revista de ficção cristã online (christianfictiononlinemagazine.com). São nove livros que merecem realmente ser lidos. As capas, como sempre impressionam, mas aqui no Brasil o pessoal já está fazendo um bom trabalho com capa também. Só falta publicar mais ficção cristã para nós, não é?

Nesse novo livro de Nicholas Sparks encontramos dois personagens interessantes Travis e Gabby. Ele de índole calma, mas com espírito aventureiro; ela temperamental e decidida. Eles se conhecem de forma inesperada e nada agradável. Gabby acusa o cachorro de propriedade de Travis e ter engravidado sua cadela. Um grande mal entendido. Ele além de relevar o que ela havia lhe dito ainda ajuda quando Moly, a cadela de Gabby passa mal (sim, Travis é veterinário) e isso aproxima os dois. Mas para Gabby aquela aproximação não poderia passar de amizade, já que ela tinha namorado, Kevin, que estava com ela há anos.
Porém, a presença de Travis suscitava algo nela que ela não compreendia, e logo questionamentos surgem em sua mente: Estaria ela vivendo a sua vida como deveria viver? Seu relacionamento com Kevin já não estaria fadado à rotina? Com Travis sua vida mudaria?

A história não há uma grande e espetacular reviravolta. Ela é centrada nesse casal, como se conhecem, como um se torna importante para o outro, como constituem uma família e como uma tragédia afeta suas vidas. Mas apresar de não haver grandes surpresas, Sparks consegue nos segurar pela emoção e pela simplicidade de sua história. O amor deve ser contado sempre assim, em minha opinião, de forma simples, bem-humorada e com uma dose de tragédia, e nesse quesito Nicholas Sparks é mestre. Basta das uma olhada em seus livros anteriores.

Agora vamos ao título: "A Escolha". Sim há escolhas a se fazer pelos personagens. Primeiro por Gabby, se ela deverá romprer com seu namorado para ficar com Travis, que se resume a trocar o certo pelo duvidoso; depois por Travis, quando ocorre um acidente em família e ele tem que decidir entre ficar com a mulher amada ou "deixá-la ir".

Quanto ao conteúdo cristão, tenho que dizer que Sparks dessa vez deu uma escorregada. Não, dessa vez ele não abordou quase nada sobre comportamento de um cristão, mas ele fala sobre perseverança, esperança e o amor verdadeiro entre um homem para com sua esposa. E antes que eu escreva mais do que deveria, aconselho-os a ler esse livro. Leitura super agradável.

FILME/ DICA: Depois das Cinzas (Despues de Las Cenizas)

O filme Depois das Cinzas, foi produzido pela Valdense films, empresa hispânica pertencente ao pastor equatoriano Fausto Salazar, que está localizada no Estados Unidos. O filme ainda não está disponível no Brasil, mas a Valdense films, acabou de montar um escritório no Brasil.

Sinopse: Uma história de amor, dor e triunfo. Monica é uma jovem que está disposta a dar tudo por amor, sem dar-se conta de que ele roubaria algo mais que o seu coração.
